Hi,

I just received my new iCode device and trying to set it up with Mister. I don't get the paddles to do anything.

Device is Duo Plus Pro with 9,01 Firmware. Mister is latest version.

iCode Settings: Mode 1. Mister toggle to on. Plugged in Port 1. Joystick Dials working in Display.

Mister Settings: Joystick1 Auto, Joystick2 Auto (tried everything). Swap Joysticks off.

The Joystick is registered in Mister and in the Atari Core. I don't know if I have to register the paddles in the Atari core too.

I tried following every step on your YT Video about FW8.5 but that doesn't work for me. The yellow button for example, where you register your paddles at the end of the video is doing nothing for me.

Any hints how to debug?

Thanks.

Hi Frank.  Try these Steps:

On the Duo:
1. disable mouse
2. turn on Mister mode
3. go to the paddles menu and change Paddles AS to "LEFT".  (this is import step)

Now. Connect a joystick and turn on Mister
1.go to mister menu (before you load atari core)
2. from the System setting menu of mister, select Define joystick buttons
3. use a joystick to set dpad right and down,  skip stick 1 tilt right  and stick 2 tilt right
4, use joystick to set right up Right left up down and A B C D buttons.  Skip L and R buttons. Set the Sel and Start buttons
5, skip all mouse settings, menu,  OK, and Back
6. when it asks for tilt right, move the joystick to right.  Tilt down, move the joystick down.  (this is import step)

Now load core and game. Once the game starts, press the yellow button or both paddle buttons and it should switch to paddles mode on mister and your paddles should start to work.

That worked. Sensational 🙂 I think the problem was, that the setting PADDLES AS was "right". After changing that it worked. Now I am trying the driving controllers for Indi 500:

I switch mode to driving. I connect the Indy 500 rotary controllers and see the circles with the moving line inside.

Mister Joystick setting is to auto. I press the yellow button and mister says "paddle mode". When I press the rotary buttons, it says "difficutly left A-B" and the car drives. The rotary controllers do nothing.

Can you please give me some advice here too?

@frank, great that we got paddles operation.

I am not sure if Driving controllers with work on MiSTer.  With other emulators like Stella, they work.   On Mister, you might want to try Mouse Mode turned ON.  I will have to try it next weekend and I will report back if I have some success.

Oh, ok, I found out they work kind of in joystick mode but not really playable. And the buttons always change the difficulty. I think I remember I had them running with the old atari core, but not sure anymore. Thanks for letting me know.
