I have an iCode Duo Ultimate H1 Universal USB Adapter. As soon as I got it, I followed the setup instructions (though I can’t quite remember whether they were in a video or the documentation) and managed to configure two paddles perfectly on an Atari 7800 for Warlords. At some point, I made some changes – probably the wrong ones – and had to redo the setup.

I’m about to go through the configuration process again as instructed. Everything’s going well; I skip ‘fire1’ and click on ‘fire2’ as the second button. When I get to ‘Paddle button’, I click the fire button on the first paddle, but it doesn’t respond to commands. I’ve tried switching off, switching back on, saving… you name it. Can anyone explain why the paddle button isn’t being assigned, even though I’ve left it unassigned as per the instructions?

I’ve made a bit more progress. On MiSTer, I enabled the input tester and discovered that both ‘Paddle 1 Button’ and ‘Paddle 2 Button’ correspond to the B button. This explains why, when on the Atari 7800 button configuration you set ‘Paddle 2 Button’ as fire button 2, the Paddle 2 Button itself doesn’t actually respond. I used the configuration described in the link in the first post. How can I separate the inputs for the two paddle buttons?
