Quad Ultimate CX H1 1.1 — October 31, 2026

iCode Quad Ultimate CX USB - Version 1.1 H1

New: play Atari 8-bit computer and 5200 games on the built-in display — plus 13 arcade games

Atari Games — NEW in 1.1

  • An Atari 400/800/XL/XE — and an Atari 5200 — on the built-in display. Pick Atari Games from the start-up menu or the Games menu (Yellow + Menu). The Atari operating system is built in, so no Atari ROM files are needed.
  • Play with your Atari joysticks. Ports 1 to 4 are joysticks 1 to 4 (start a four-player game such as M.U.L.E. with White to run it on a 400/800), and paddles on Ports 1 and 2 work in games such as Kaboom! and Super Breakout. Black = START, White = SELECT, Green = OPTION, Yellow = SPACE, the right side button = RETURN; hold Menu to return to the game list.
  • On-screen keyboard. Press Blue for the Atari's keys; the game pauses while you type.
  • Bring your own games. Programs (.xex .com .exe), cartridges (.car .rom .bin), 5200 cartridges (.a52) and disk images (.atr .xfd), or zips holding one, copied onto the same ARCADE ROMS drive as the arcade games — folders are fine. Arcade zips are left out of the Atari list. Games are not included.
  • Atari 5200 games. The thumbstick is the 5200 controller's analog stick; Blue shows its keypad on screen.
  • Settings for the keyboard, FPS display, volume, default machine (800XL or 400/800), TV system (NTSC or PAL), and a controller test.

Start-up Menu & Games Menu (NEW)

  • A start-up menu at power-up. Choose Game Adapter, Arcade Games, Atari Games or Built-in Games. The starred default starts by itself after 8 seconds; press Yellow, Blue, left or right to make the highlighted item the default. Turn the menu off, or change the default, under Start-up Menu and Start-up Default in the General settings.
  • A new Games menu with Arcade Games, Atari Games and Built-in Games — Iron Dome, Brick Bash and Jaw Cruncher now have their own submenu. Open it with Yellow + Menu, or with Games at the top of the main menu.
  • No games yet? If the ROM drive is empty, a help screen explains how to add games, with a QR code to icode.com/help/quad, and opens the ROM drive for you.
  • Faster start-up. The logo, version and registration screens are gone: the start-up menu shows the USB mode and version (for example Classic - v1.1), and an unregistered Quad shows a reminder after your first pick and at the bottom of the main menu.
  • Atari 8-bit is now Atari Games everywhere in the menus.

Arcade Games

  • 13 games, up from 6. New: Donkey Kong Jr., Space Invaders, Pooyan, Time Pilot, Xevious, Super Cobra, and Scramble. The bigger ROM drive holds all of them.
  • Two-button games. Xevious, Super Cobra and Scramble use Fire (or Red / Blue) for the first button and Green / Yellow for the second; the Port 1 joystick's fire does both.
  • Smoother game list without the full-screen blink, auto-repeat when you hold up or down, and renamed ROM files found by their checksum.
  • 512 KB ROM drive, up from 256 KB, now named ARCADE ROMS: room for every arcade game plus your Atari games.

Good to Know

  • Back up your ROMs before updating from 1.0. The new, larger ROM drive starts empty: copy your ROM zips off the QUAD ROMS drive first (Arcade Games → ROM Drive (USB)), then copy them onto the new ARCADE ROMS drive after the update. Arcade high scores start fresh. Later updates keep your ROMs, Atari games and high scores.
  • Settings and presets are reset by firmware updates — save them to your iCodeHub Vault before updating and reload them afterward.
  • Open source: Atari Games (atari800 + AltirraOS) and Arcade Games are GPLv3, source at github.com/alijani1/Pico2Atari8 and github.com/alijani1/Pico2Arcade.

Quad Ultimate CX H1 1.0 — September 30, 2026

iCode Quad Ultimate CX USB - Version 1.0 H1

Initial release — four Atari controller ports, four players, one USB adapter

Four Atari Ports, Four Players

  • Four controllers at once. Four Atari DB9 ports, each presented to your computer or console as its own USB gamepad — up to four players show up as four separate controllers.
  • One setup for everyone. Ports 3 and 4 automatically follow the configuration of Ports 1 and 2 (Port 3 mirrors Port 1, Port 4 mirrors Port 2), so a four-player game is set up once and every player gets identical controls.
  • Ports 3 & 4 on/off. A new Ports 3 & 4 setting in Ports Active turns the third and fourth ports on or off per preset — handy when you only need two gamepads.

Supported Controllers

  • Ports 1 and 2 support the full Atari lineup: 2600 and 7800 joysticks (CX40, CX78), paddles (CX-30), the driving controller (CX-20), trackballs (CX-22, CX-80), and keypads (CX50, CX21).
  • Ports 3 and 4 support joysticks and driving controllers.
  • 4-player paddles — dual paddles on Ports 1 and 2, with the jitter-free pipeline, auto-detect in Stick+Paddles mode, and Split mode for platforms that need each paddle as its own gamepad.

Arcade Games (NEW)

  • Six classic arcade games — Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong, and Dig Dug — on the built-in display. Open Mini-Games (Yellow + Menu) and pick Arcade Games.
  • Bring your own ROMs. Select ROM Drive (USB) in the game list, copy the MAME ROM zips onto the QUAD ROMS drive, eject, and play. ROMs are not included.
  • ROM check. Each zip is checked against the supported ROM set; a wrong or incomplete set is listed in red and tells you which file is missing or wrong.
  • Saved high scores. Each game's high-score table is saved when you leave the game (hold Menu) and restored the next time you play — and kept through firmware updates, along with your ROMs.
  • Landscape or portrait. Play in landscape, or turn the Quad on its side for a full-size portrait picture. Volume is set in the game list.
  • Controls. Port 1 joystick or thumbstick to move; Port 1 fire, Red, Blue, or the thumbstick click to fire; White = Start, Black = Coin; hold Menu to return to the game list.

Atari Gamestation Pro Support (NEW)

  • New Classic 2 USB mode. Select Classic 2 in USB Emulation and the Atari Gamestation Pro treats the Quad like its own joystick — directions, buttons, and paddles all work.
  • Setup tip: set Function to D-Pad for joystick directions, and set the paddle axis to Trigger in iCodeHub for paddle games. Mouse and keyboard output are turned off automatically in this mode.

Display, Controls & Extras

  • Large color display with real-time animated controller views. Players 3 and 4 appear as magenta outlines on the Port 1 and Port 2 images.
  • Thumbstick and side buttons. An on-device thumbstick drives the menus and can be mapped for gameplay. The side buttons move up and down in menus and can each be assigned any action for gameplay. Six colored buttons support up to 3 actions each with rapid fire.
  • Built-in mini-games — Iron Dome, Brick Bash, and Jaw Cruncher — with sound through the built-in speaker. Hold Yellow + Menu to play.
  • Mouse and keyboard emulation — paddles, trackball, and driving controllers can act as a USB mouse, and any button can send keyboard keys.

Good to Know

  • Paddles, trackballs, keypads, and the 7800 second fire button work on Ports 1 and 2 only. If Ports 1 and 2 use one of these, Ports 3 and 4 work as joysticks.
  • Split paddle mode uses Ports 1 and 2 only — Ports 3 and 4 are not used while it's on.
  • iCodeHub fully supports the Quad — manage presets, remap buttons, and update firmware at hub.icode.com.

iCode Quad Ultimate CX-W USB - Version 1.0 H1

Initial release — four Atari controller ports, four players, USB and Bluetooth

Four Atari Ports, Four Players

  • Four controllers at once. Four Atari DB9 ports, each presented to your computer or console as its own USB gamepad — up to four players show up as four separate controllers.

Bluetooth Wireless (CX-W)

  • Four players over Bluetooth. The CX-W connects as up to four standard Bluetooth gamepads — one per player — plus a Bluetooth mouse. Pair it once as iCode Quad Ultimate.
  • Wireless menu. USB Settings → Wireless: turn wireless on or off, choose Priority (USB First or Wireless First), and pick Wireless Players (1, 2 or 4 — each its own Bluetooth device: - Single, - Dual, or the four-player iCode Quad Ultimate).
  • Status bar. USB, BT and battery indicators at the top of the display show which connection carries your controls, whether Bluetooth is connected, pairing, or on standby, and the battery level.
  • Battery and charging. Charges from any USB port or charger. The level counts up while charging and shows 100% once charging is complete; a Battery Low — Please Charge warning appears when it runs out.

Quad Ultimate SE H1 1.0 — October 27, 2026

iCode Quad Ultimate SE USB - Version 1.0 H1

Initial release — four Atari controller ports, no screen, and spoken feedback

Four Atari Ports, Four Players

  • Four controllers at once. Four Atari DB9 ports, each presented to your computer or console as its own USB gamepad — up to four players show up as four separate controllers.
  • One setup for everyone. Ports 3 and 4 automatically follow the configuration of Ports 1 and 2 (Port 3 mirrors Port 1, Port 4 mirrors Port 2), so a four-player game is set up once and every player gets identical controls.
  • Ports 3 & 4 on/off. Turn the third and fourth ports on or off per preset in iCodeHub — handy when you only need two gamepads.

Spoken Feedback (NEW)

  • It talks. With no screen, the SE tells you out loud what it’s doing through its built-in speaker.
  • Controller changes per port. Plug paddles into Port 1 and you’ll hear “Port one. Paddles.”; switch presets and each port’s new controller is announced — or “All ports” when they all change together. At power-up, after the startup sound, it says the selected controller type — for example “Stick and paddles.”
  • USB mode, version, and firmware update. Changing the USB emulation mode names the new mode, holding Black at power-up says the firmware version, and firmware-update mode is announced.
  • Volume button. The gray Menu button steps the volume through 25, 50, 75, and 100 percent and says the new level.

Screen-Free, App-Configured

  • No screen, no menus. Every setting is made in iCodeHub — controller types and settings, button and keypad mappings, emulation mode, Ports 3 & 4, and presets — and remembered across power cycles.
  • Four programmable buttons. Black, White, and the left and right side buttons map to any gamepad button or keyboard action. Black and White support up to 3 actions each with rapid fire.
  • On-device controls. Hold White while plugging in to step to the next USB mode, hold Black + White while plugging in for firmware-update mode, and hold Black + White for two seconds while playing to step the controller type (Stick+Paddles, Driving, Trackball, Keypad).

  • Mouse and keyboard emulation — paddles, trackball, and driving controllers can act as a USB mouse, and any button can send keyboard keys.

Good to Know

  • Five USB emulation modes — Standard, Classic, Nintendo, Legacy, and iOS.
  • Paddles, trackballs, keypads, and the 7800 second fire button work on Ports 1 and 2 only. If Ports 1 and 2 use one of these, Ports 3 and 4 work as joysticks.
  • 10 presets on the device, backed up automatically to your iCodeHub cloud vault (up to 100 presets). Settings are reset by firmware updates — save your presets to the vault first.
  • iCodeHub is the SE’s setup tool — manage presets, remap buttons, and update firmware at hub.icode.com.
