Four-Player Atari on Any Modern Platform
Premium Four-Player USB Adapter for Classic Atari Controllers
The iCode Quad Ultimate CX is a professional-grade USB adapter that transforms your original Atari controllers into modern gaming input devices. Powered by a dual-core RP2350 microcontroller, it delivers precise, low-latency translation of joysticks, paddles, driving controllers, trackballs, and keypads into standard USB HID format — with zero drivers or software required.
Universal Compatibility
Connect to Windows and Linux PCs, Macs, iOS devices, Android systems, MiSTer FPGA, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, the Atari Gamestation Pro, RetroPie, Batocera, EmuELEC, and any platform running RetroArch or Linux-based emulation frontends. Simply plug in your controllers and play.
Four-Player Gaming, Perfectly Synchronized
Each of the four USB ports presents as an independent gamepad to your system, ensuring every player registers as their own controller. Ports 3 and 4 automatically mirror the configuration of Ports 1 and 2, eliminating setup hassle in four-player games. Ports 1 and 2 support the full range of Atari controllers — joysticks, 7800 two-button joysticks, paddles, driving controllers, trackballs, and keypads — while Ports 3 and 4 add two additional joystick or driving controller players.
Superior Analog Performance
A proprietary jitter-free pipeline eliminates analog noise and drift, delivering smooth, stable paddle control that other adapters cannot match. Adjustable sensitivity and acceleration curves let you fine-tune the feel — from pixel-precise aiming to sweeping arcade movements.
Built-In LCD Display and Entertainment
A vibrant color LCD displays real-time animated controller views, showing stick movements, paddle positions, and button presses as you play. A built-in speaker with volume control provides audio feedback and powers three playable mini-games directly on the device: Iron Dome, Brick Bash, and Jaw Cruncher.
The Quad also includes arcade mode: play six classic 1980s arcade games — Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong, and Dig Dug — using original arcade ROM files you supply. High-score tables persist even when powered off.
Extensive Programmability
Six programmable buttons, two side buttons, and an on-device thumbstick provide full menu control and gameplay options. Every button can be mapped to any gamepad function with up to three simultaneous actions per button — enabling macro-like flexibility without requiring any software configuration.
Store up to 10 presets directly on the device, with automatic cloud backup via the iCodeHub companion app. Manage and organize up to 100 total presets online, giving you complete control over your setup without installing additional software.

Supported Controllers
Atari 2600 and 7800 Joysticks (CX40, CX78)
The classic 2600 single-button joystick works on all four ports, and the dual-button 7800 joystick is supported on Ports 1 and 2. Full 8-direction support with configurable button action mapping and per-direction remapping, letting you assign stick directions and buttons to any function for modern game compatibility.
Atari Paddles (CX-30)
Precision analog paddle support with the jitter-free pipeline for silky-smooth rotation. In Stick+Paddles mode, the adapter automatically detects when paddles are connected and calibrates them on the fly — no manual setup required, just plug in and play. The adapter reads dual paddles on Ports 1 and 2, enabling up to 4 paddle players. A dedicated Split Mode presents each paddle as its own independent USB gamepad — critical for platforms like MiSTer FPGA, RetroPie, Batocera, and RetroArch that require separate device enumeration for multiplayer paddle games like Warlords and Kaboom. Read more about Split technology here. Paddles can be mapped to any gamepad axis for full compatibility with modern emulators and the Atari Gamestation Pro, or configured as a USB mouse for desktop use and mouse-driven games.
Atari Driving Controller (CX-20)
Continuous-rotation output from the Indy 500 driving controller, decoded for perfectly smooth steering — on all four ports, for four-player driving. Choose between horizontal or vertical axis output to match your emulator, with sensitivity and acceleration settings that keep gentle turns precise while fast spins ramp up responsiveness. Pair with Auto Center to use the driving controller in stick-driven games, or turn on Raw output for emulators that decode the controller themselves. The driving controller can also operate as a USB mouse.
Atari 2600 Trackball (CX-22, CX-80)
Full X/Y tracking for Atari trackball controllers on Ports 1 and 2, with independent axis control, adjustable sensitivity, and advanced acceleration that keeps slow rolls precise and fast flicks quick. The trackball can be configured as a USB gamepad, a USB mouse, or both simultaneously. Pair with Auto Center to play stick-only games like Asteroids or Space Invaders with your trackball — the cursor returns to neutral the moment you stop rolling, just like an analog stick.
Atari 2600 Keyboard Controller (CX50) and Star Raiders Keypad (CX21)
Complete support for both keypad controllers on Ports 1 and 2, including all 12 keys. Every key can be individually mapped to any gamepad button, directional action, or keyboard key — essential for games that rely on keypad input for weapon selection, game options, and number entry.
Four Ports, One Setup
The Quad’s four Atari ports each appear as their own USB gamepad, so four players show up as four separate controllers — exactly what multiplayer games and emulators expect. Ports 3 and 4 mirror the configuration of Ports 1 and 2, so you set up a four-player game once and everyone gets identical controls. Need fewer players? Turn Ports 3 and 4 off with a single setting, or run Port 1 only or Port 2 only.
Arcade Mode
Pick Arcade Games from the Mini-Games menu and the Quad becomes a pocket arcade machine. Six classic arcade games — Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong, and Dig Dug — run right on the built-in color display. The games run from the original MAME ROM files, which you provide: the Quad shows up on your computer as a USB drive, you copy the zip files over, and the games appear in the arcade menu. Each ROM set is checked automatically, so a wrong or incomplete file is flagged instead of failing mysteriously. Play in landscape, or turn the Quad on its side for a full-size portrait picture, using your Atari joystick on Port 1 or the on-device thumbstick and buttons. And unlike the original cabinets, the Quad remembers every game’s high-score table when you switch it off. ROMs are not included.
Quad Ultimate CX-W — Wireless
The Quad Ultimate CX-W adds a Bluetooth module and a built-in rechargeable battery. It connects to Windows PCs, Android devices, and other Bluetooth hosts as up to four standard Bluetooth gamepads — one per player — plus a Bluetooth mouse, so all four ports go wireless. Choose 1, 2, or 4 wireless players to match your game. Plug in USB and the Quad switches over automatically (or keep playing wirelessly while it charges — your choice), with status indicators for USB, Bluetooth, and the battery level right on the display. The battery charges from any USB port or charger.
iCodeHub — Your Cloud Companion
The iCode Quad Ultimate CX is backed by iCodeHub, a free web-based companion app that connects directly to your adapter through your Chrome or Edge browser using WebHID — no software to install, no drivers to configure.
Preset Management & Cloud Vault
Your 10 on-device presets are automatically backed up to a personal cloud vault every time you connect. Name and organize your presets, and expand your library to up to 100 cloud-stored presets. If a preset on your device differs from the cloud version, smart conflict detection lets you choose which to keep — device, cloud, or both. Load any vault preset onto any device slot with a single click.
Firmware Updates
Stay up to date with over-the-air firmware updates delivered directly through iCodeHub. Browse the full version history with release notes, download and flash new firmware right from the app, and recover from any state with the built-in firmware recovery mode — no technical knowledge required.
Community Leaderboards
High scores from the built-in mini-games are automatically read from your device and submitted to community leaderboards. Compete with other iCode owners and see where you rank.
Device Registration & Ownership
Your adapter is registered to your account and linked to your profile. If you sell or gift your device, ownership transfers seamlessly — the new owner simply connects and claims the device on their account.
