I just received the Duo Ultimate and have been testing it with various systems. It works great with Mame and Altirra, but for some reason Stella (v7, windows) does not pick up the paddles other than the fire buttons. I tried with the default profile (0, atari joystick+paddles) and i tried creating a new profile and trying different settings and in all cases only the paddle fire buttons get picked up, not the paddle x/y axes. I have a Duo Plus that works fine with Stella.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Hi. These are the steps:
- On the iCode Ultimate, connect paddles to port 1, spin each paddle both directions fully so they auto calibrate and then make sure they are in center position.
- Yellow dot on the device is paddle A. Cyan dot is Paddle B. Make sure you know which is which.
On Stella, press TAB key on keyboard to bring up the menu
Select Input
Events dropdown, change to Paddles.
Highlight Left Paddle A Analog, click erase, then Map, then move paddle A in either direction
Highlight Left Paddle A Fire, click erase, then Map, then press the fire button on paddle A
Highlight Left Paddle B Analog, click erase, then Map, then move paddle B in either direction
Highlight Left Paddle B Fire, click erase, then Map, then press the fire button on paddle B
Change Events dropdown value from paddles to Console.
Highlight Select, click erase, click map. press white button on device.
Highlight Reset, click erase, click map. press black button on device.
Press OK, press close to exit menu system
Now it should work fine. you will also be able to select and start games with black and white buttons.
Yes, those are the steps I followed. Like I said, I have been using Stella with the Duo Plus without any issues and I have the Ultimate working properly with Mame and Altirra.
When attempting to map the paddles with the Ultimate, Stella does not recognize that I am rotating the paddle. Stella does pick up when i press the paddle button when mapping the Fire button.
When I go back to the Duo Plus I have no issues remapping the paddles properly.
